(To comfort one on the passing of their father)
You have the legacy of love and compassion, which flowed through your dad's veins
His wisdom, his wit, his drive to help men break the chains
Always encouraged them to never quit
Death is painful, but experiencing the second death is bad
Your dad lived to ensure men were saved from that for sure
Weep if you must, the pain of death never goes away
Remember to rejoice this day
A Sabbath day of rest
Celebrate dad's rest, he did his best, he finished his course
Glory awaits, sin no longer has a hold, he was bold
He shared more than fourfold
Time and time again
That our God reigns
Soon the Son will appear with healing in His wings
Dad will rise, no surprise
You will meet, in the resurrection so sweet
Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard
We stand on God's word
In the meantime, may you find joy and sunshine.
He lives in your heart and gave you the greatest gift
An introduction to Jesus
A faith that endured
A love that shared
A home that was open
A family full of love
A legacy from above
Allow it to fill your memories and descend upon you
As the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus as a dove
