I Will Love You

I Will Love You

When the heavens declare to look up,see a glory

It surpasses the reflections of celestial bodies

It's not of men nor creatures when lovingly placed here

When all sons of creation sang for joy, and worship was fair

When you turned away from where your help comes

Homemade, in My image, the best you can become

That insatiable yearning deep inside is only for Me

To deny what I've placed in you would only be contrary

When hurt by your rebellion, in choosing  another

In shame, you chose garments inefficient to cover

To hide is futile, I'm everywhere, even as time has shown

Hearts adorned with pride in things that are truly not your own

When this image of Me bows to other images, idols that cannot hear or feel

Such pride of heart that I desire, grasp for another to heal

A love, enough to pour water from rocks, even to protect and sustain you

I am jealous over you, all I want is your heart to love me to

In your quiet moments when lonely in a world

Loving hands will guide your paths if you would care to hold

When the enemy strikes and my warmth has left

A spot I'll mark as you sleep in cold, see a world in bereft

In My Essence, you were presented to love, to be

My Presence, a treasured one held so sincerely

In all your steps, if not ordered by me, you will never truly be free

Finally, when you strip yourself of all that annoys, you will rejoin me
