I Look Then I See

I Look Then I See

When sadly you are absent to a world

I look at you and see you as I Am

When the world looks, what will it see

Will it see a sculpture in a stone?

A masterpiece in a hopeless form

Uniquely, an image shines through

Your failures are successes in waiting

Successes from failures, unknowing

When sleep fails to kiss your eyes

In the dark, a solitary figure looks on

Nights lit up when snow settles as carpet

Smiles can be brighter even when it snows.

In your darkest hours, a light still shines.

Life's days and nights inundate your soul

If you'll allow yourself to see it in the dark

You will come through it all perfectly whole.

It says, "look," see what is truly meant to be

It's good to look, but even greater yet to see
